YOUR HOME, PROPERLY PREPARED
Roughcasting gives a house its familiar textured appearance. When an existing finish becomes loose, patchy or worn, the right approach depends on what is happening underneath. We assess your walls and explain whether the proposed work involves preparation, removal or a new finish, so you know what your quote covers.

THE SCOPE OF YOUR ROUGHCASTING WORK
Loose or failing roughcast cannot be made sound by covering it. The survey identifies the areas that need preparation or removal before the new work.
Colour and aggregate affect the appearance of the finished wall. We help you choose a finish that works with the house, its windows and surrounding surfaces.
A whole elevation can offer a more consistent appearance than isolated patches. The extent of the work depends on the condition of the wall and the agreed brief.
Window reveals, adjoining surfaces and access all form part of the specification. Scaffolding and waste arrangements should be clear in the quotation.
HOW THE WORK COMES TOGETHER
Assess adhesion, visible defects, wall area and safe access.
Remove or prepare material as specified and address the agreed surface repairs.
Build up the specified layers and apply the chosen textured finish.
Check completed surfaces and explain care and warranty information.

A SPECIFICATION FOR YOUR PROPERTY
Your wall area, existing finish, preparation and access all affect the work. We explain the proposed scope before you decide.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Straightforward answers to help you take the next step.
Roughcasting has a pronounced aggregate texture. House rendering can provide a smoother or finer textured finish. Both need a suitable substrate and a specification appropriate to the building.
The area of wall, removal of existing material, repairs, access and finish all affect the price. A bungalow and a taller house can need very different access arrangements. Request a survey for an itemised quotation.
Only where the existing surface and proposed system allow it. Unsound material needs attention first. We do not recommend covering failing roughcast simply to avoid preparation.
The programme depends on the house, preparation, access and weather. We explain the proposed schedule when the scope is agreed; drying and curing conditions can affect progress.
