What affects the cost?
A useful quotation explains the work behind the number. These are the main factors we assess for coating, rendering or roughcasting your home.
Condition and preparation
Cleaning, loose coatings, damaged render and removal of existing finishes can change the scope substantially. Covering defects without suitable preparation is not a sound shortcut.
Height and access
Scaffolding, restricted side access, nearby buildings and protection of paths or conservatories affect the practical arrangements.
System, texture and colour
Coating a sound surface is different work from replacing roughcast or applying a new render system. The selected product and finish form part of the specification.
Finishing and waste
Check whether protection, removal of old material, waste handling, work around openings and final making-good are included.

We need to understand the wall area, condition and access before giving a reliable price. Tell us about the property and we can arrange a free survey and written quotation.
Does the quote include VAT and scaffolding?
Your written quotation should state the tax treatment and access arrangements, including any scaffolding, so you can compare the total payable. Clarify any exclusions before accepting the work.
Is a small patch repair always cheaper?
The initial scope may be smaller, but access and preparation still matter. New material can also differ in colour and texture from the surrounding finish. The survey helps compare the practical options.
